What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us understand how you use our site, remember your preferences, and improve your experience.
Strictly Necessary
One item is always on, because the site cannot remember your choice without it: thistle-cookie-consent, which is stored in your browser and records whether you allowed analytics and marketing cookies, and when. It is not used to track you and is never shared.
For This Visit Only
While you browse, your browser keeps a short note of how you reached us this time: the advert, search engine or website that sent you, the page you arrived on, and any referral code in the link. It is held in sessionStorage as thistle-attribution-session, with thistle-lead-id for any form you send, and both are deleted when you close the tab. It only reaches us if you send us a form, so we can see which of our marketing works and thank the client who introduced you. It never holds an advert click ID unless you allow marketing cookies.
Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use this site. It is only switched on if you turn on analytics cookies, and until then nothing is sent to Google at all. It sets two cookies, named _ga and _ga_PVDKSFH5GQ, which tell returning visits apart from new ones. We never use this data to identify you, and we do not sell or share it. With analytics on, we also remember for 90 days how you first reached us and any referral code, so a later enquiry is credited to the right campaign or client: thistle-attribution in your browser, and two cookies named thistle_first_landing and thistle_ref. Switch analytics off and all three are deleted.
Marketing Cookies
If you turn on marketing cookies, we use two advertising tools. The Meta pixel, from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, sets two cookies named _fbp and _fbc. Google Ads, from Google Ireland Ltd, sets cookies such as _gcl_au and _gcl_aw. Both measure how well our adverts work and let us show our adverts to people who have visited this site, and neither loads at all until you turn this on. We also keep the click ID from any advert you clicked, and send it with a form so we can tell which advert led to an enquiry. We do not send Meta or Google your name, email address or phone number. Leave it off and the site works exactly the same.
Managing Cookies
When you first arrive you can accept all, reject all, or choose analytics and marketing separately. Both are off unless you turn them on. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page: switch either one off and it stops straight away. You can also control cookies in your browser settings, where most browsers let you refuse them or delete ones already saved.
